“Things like drug abuse, domestic violence, serious criminal activity, police raids, Family and Community Services visits, these were just the norm for our family. Every day was a fight and every day there was another lie to tell somebody about what was really happening.” He described how his life changed after being placed in a new home in 2014 with a teacher who became his carer, and later enrolled“My parents were incapable of giving me the start that I needed in life, they have been absent for the greatest part of it,” he said.
