Bruce Willett, chairman of the The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in Queensland, told Today the state is facing a nervous wait to see if further coronavirus cases emerge.Dr Bruce Willett said the case of the Victorian woman who travelled to Queensland and tested COVID positive is a wake up call for the state."I think there's a lot of anger and disappointment really that people would do this.
"And then we can try to piece together exactly how this person acquired it and look, of course, how they are able to get up here.""I think complacency is a real concern in our country. We've had excellent control and with that I think people's perception of risk has declined .
Dr Willett said the incident was a wake-up call for Queenslanders to get vaccinated and a reminder of how virulent the virus is.
