Andy Murray faces another fight to end his tennis career on a high after being diagnosed with a serious ankle injury. The tennis legend was in agony when he rolled his ankle late in a marathon defeat at the Miami Open on Sunday . As willing as ever, the 36-year-old somehow completed the match and even hung around to sign autographs for fans. But scans have since revealed the extent of the injury will keep him off the court for a significant amount of time.
Just when he would call time has remained unclear, with a final appearance at Wimbledon in July the most fitting option. He has, however, also shared his desire to make it to the Paris Olympics in July-August to put the full stop on his career after winning gold at London 2012 and Rio 2016. Murray expressed some frustration with the constant questions about his retirement date following his exit from Indian Wells earlier this month. “I feel like no one is listening to me,” he said.
