“What’s expected at a federal level is to avoid many of the issues we’ve seen – pork barrelling and [what] some would allege is corrupt practice – over the past decade,” he said. “If federal Labor is true to the framework it established ... it will subject the Suburban Rail Loop to full evaluation and public reporting by Infrastructure Australia before committing funds.
An Albanese government spokesman would not say whether it would commit to the full $11.5 billion Victoria is seeking for the project, or what role Infrastructure Australia would play in unlocking more cash.“Our $2.2 billion investment in Suburban Rail Loop is the beginning of a long-term partnership to deliver this city-shaping project,” he said. “We know that this project stacks up and will deliver benefits to all Victorians.
“This project more than stacks up – that’s why the Albanese Government is partnering with us to deliver this vital project,” she said.
pwhatch ffs!
pwhatch You can’t complain about the last Liberal government committing to projects before there was a business case, and not do the same for Labor now.
pwhatch Murry Basin Rail Project still needs to be finished or at least fixed. Reopening the Maryborough to Castlemaine rail-line would cost cents compared to the SRL and could restore Geelong-Ballarat-Bendigo dedicated service which would relieve some stress on Melbourne.
pwhatch Methinks more Murdoch scaremongering again here. When will someone shut this mans activities down
pwhatch This smells of Costello bullshit
pwhatch The AGE mischeif making again. Setting up to attack the federal government for double standards on much needed public infrastructure versus sport rorts etc.
pwhatch Melbourne is a massive sprawling city. Current centralised rail is an anachronism. Cross city public transport is essential for sustained growth. Secures Melbourne's future. Project = jobs
pwhatch Albo just realised there is no money to give whinging DanielAndrewsMP for all the issues the federal government is responsible to fix in Victoria 🤣🤣🤣 we broke & broken down here 🤣🤣🤣🤣
pwhatch 'Collision course' Yeah, I doubt that.
pwhatch Oh FFS. “On a collision course”!
pwhatch The state voted against the East West Link. Melbourne needs ring rail of some description. Being able to get the train from Greensborough to Monash without going via the city is a huge win. It will open up work choices tremendously.
pwhatch Chairman Dan wants the El Cheapo alternative.........Obviously his broke, with Billion$ and Billion$ over in blowout$ on previous Fed. partnership projects that have come to a near standstill.
pwhatch Or a discussion…..
pwhatch The project sucks. We wanted East West link. We NEED East West link. Andrews is a fool
pwhatch It's a 🍋 project that no Victorian wants. Dan's own cost estimates 50 to 100 billion, which means 500 billion minimum. It will bankrupt Victoria & never be completed. Do not blow 4 billion of tax payers money from East West banked funds on this. AlboMP JEChalmers abcnews
pwhatch We don’t want it. Don’t need it. Vic is already broke. Don’t throw more money at Dan’s union bribe projects
pwhatch Of course they are NOT . Albo is no scomo. He will build relationships , not bulldoze them,.What a load of CRAP
pwhatch I'm а nudе mоdеl, rаtе mу рhоtоs
