Local farrier and long-time friend Curly Charlwood talked about Mr Walker's commitment to his family.Mr Charlwood said his mate was known for his forthright nature."Ernie didn't suffer fools, what you saw is what you got, he didn't mix his words," Mr Charlwood said. "Ernie was an extraordinary member of what is known as the greatest generation — one of the famous Rats of Tobruk and a veteran of Kokoda," Mr Albanese said.
We don't honour the dead by amplifying the silly things said at funerals and we dont honour the sacrifice of veterans by flaming the shame of PTSD. Do better ABC Vale Ernie Walker
