The AMA's vice president says a quarter of people booked in for COVID-19 vaccinations at his Adelaide clinic have pulled out since medical advice regarding AstraZeneca changed last week.

Dr Moy said "easily 25 per cent" of people booked to receive AstraZeneca jabs had so far pulled out, "either because they were waiting for their first shot or because they were uncertain about their second".

"This recalibration of the advice is causing significant practical problems," he told ABC Radio Adelaide this morning."Our poor receptionists have taken a lot and really struggled last week, and received cancellations and people not turning up and lots and lots and lots of questions. To be honest, it's been very difficult for them to handle."An emergency National Cabinet meeting is being held today, with the troubled vaccination rollout the only item on the agenda.

Dr Moy said he remained convinced AstraZeneca was a "really good vaccine", despite new advice recommending Pfizer for people aged in their 50s. "I'm 54, I've had my first shot, I will be having my second. I know the figures. The figures are very clear," he said.Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

What is the risk of mixing vaccines? How does that compare to the risk of TTS? What data does Canada have?

Australia’s vaccine rollout is more like a “strollout”.

“Get it out there & Get them injected” Albo Labor the sky is falling with the Morrison gov Vaccine rollout, It’s Not fast enough for Albo Hmm: Norway delays AstraZeneca vaccine ruling to further probe risks Poll: Australia 26% say NO to Vaccine

For God Sake! Not rocket science. Elderlies and vulnerables given Astra Z only gets fully vaccinated 12 -14 weeks later. Younger ones not at risks are fully vaccinated with Pfizer ,within 4-6 weeks. That put the vulnerables in danger for 8-10 weeks longer...OMG !!!!!!!!

Seven Victorian businesses for Covid-19 compliance breachesA retail store and a beauty venue in Melbourne are among seven Victorian businesses shut down for breaching the state’s CovidSafe regulations, after more than $52,000 in fines were handed out over the past three months. That’s funny cause when QR code’s became mandatory in Vic for business all beauty services/ salons were closed due to forced shutdowns with the restrictions and weren’t allowed to open at all . Sounds like made up bulkshit to me! Don't pay Seems fair. Can't complain about the impact of Covid on small business when you are doing pretty much every thing you can to not do what needs to be done to support your own and everyone else's business. Why the warnings though? Individuals weren't given warnings.
