Opposition Leader AlboMP says the Labor party has used Australia’s democratic processes to force the Morrison government to implement the necessary measures to help people through the coronavirus pandemic.

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says the Labor party has used Australia’s democratic processes to force the Morrison government to implement the necessary measures to help people through the coronavirus pandemic. Mr Albanese said the Labor party had two main responsibilities, to "constructively work towards securing improved health and economic outcomes" and to "hold the government to account".

“Whether it be the closure of borders, whether it be social distancing measures, whether it be testing and whether it be the search for a vaccination, on each and every issue Labor has been out there ahead of the government”. The Opposition leader said Labor had sought to ensure no one had been held back in terms of health outcomes during the coronavirus crisis. “We argued the case for youth allowance, Austudy and ABSTUDY recipients to receive support and we got it.
