With more than 1,000 coronavirus cases linked to aged care homes and the death toll rising, experts and advocates are calling for major investment and reforms in the sector.

According to the Grattan Institute, despite repeated calls for help during COVID-19, private providers have struggled to get skilled staff and personal protective equipment. The insecure nature of their work can see staff working at more than one facility."There is an obvious need to bring aged care together with GP, hospital and emergency services," the Grattan Institute said.

Home-like models: Smaller-scaler residential aged care facilities where residents live in household units that have regular staff. As much as they are able, residents can live as if they are in a normal home. Easier access to respite care, including day-stay respite care. This might be activity-based, rather than short stays at long-term residential facilities.

Border Control , Lockdowns we are heading for Zero . Sticky HIV GMO

The Government had 2 choices Herd Immunity ( hammer effect ) or cocoon elderly and vulnerable .

You’re children don’t care why should Uncle Sam ?

More than 1000? Try over 30% of US cases, ABC.

The term “aged care” is a contronym.

Better pay for Home Support Workers so we attract and retain more workers in that sector. Free up the Home Care Packages so people don’t have to go into facilities.

Don’t blame the government- it’s difficult to care for elderly parents when everyone is expected to work well into their 60’s - retirement age is now 70. In addition how about some of those early boomers relinquish the cash stored in their homes if they want better care 🤔

CUOMO sent 4500 infected patients into various senior nursing homes, infecting and killing tens of thousands of them without anyone holding him accountable.

Well in reality of people cares more about family members rather than money and notoriety/social status they would take care of their own and not dump them in institutions.

Families spend a fortune to get into those places. It’s time the Govt took more notice of aged care sector.

The State is best to provide social care. Profit and social outcomes do not mix. Design and build model facilities based on improved outcomes for seniors, rather than designed to process cattle for profit. On that success, expand.

What did they do in Wuhan lab to cause all the side effects to this virus And on it goes, there is organ damage, and brain damage. No one knows if Cov-19 is really gone from the body or hiding to return at a later date. You really don't want this Virus. Use a Mask. I call BS.
