Former president Donald Trump has welcomed his second impeachment acquittal and says his political movement"has only just begun".

The Republican senators who voted against Mr Trump were Richard Burr, Ben Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse and Pat Toomey. As expected, all Democratic Senators voted to convict.We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the vote today by Sen. Cassidy to convict former President Trump. Fortunately, clearer heads prevailed and President Trump has been acquitted of the impeachment charge filed against him.
"There's no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day,” Mr McConnell said. “No question about it. The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president. Mitch McConnell, who voted to acquit Mr Trump, delivered a speech after the vote condemning the former president's conduct.Mr McConnell went on to accuse Mr Trump of “not doing his job” during the riots, accusing him of “watching TV happily” as the demonstrations went on.

I'm sorry to say that Sen McConnell has a point in saying that: - impeachment is for removal of SITTING officers - the actions of Mr Trump when President are subject to prosecution under the Criminal Justice System & to litigation in Civil Law. Let's hope we'll see him in courts
