The AFL insists it hasn't cracked down on fan behaviour despite 'behavioural awareness officers' patrolling the crowd at Friday night's Essendon-Hawthorn game afl

AFL fans are outraged at "behavioural awareness officers" patrolling the crowd at Friday night's game between Essendon and Hawthorn, but Marvel Stadium says they've been in place all year.

Essendon Football Club recruiting consultant and former AFL coach Robert Shaw tweeted a photo of the officers with: "40 years in the game and played, coached and spectated at some inhospitable rival grounds. This is a first for me. Have we really got to this? So sad if we have."Fans responded that it was "embarrassing" and "political correctness gone into new levels not seen".

"As a long-term follower of AFL, I am losing interest in AFL and seriously thinking of only attending VFL as it's more user friendly."

Too Orwellian for me. The AFL will not be getting any of my money and I will be letting AFL’s advertisers know that I will not buy their products.

The AFL have become the self appointed 'messiah' of Australian Rules Football! AFL have become biased 'Morality Bastians' against passionate vocal footy 🏈 supporters! Yet another example, once again of Political correctness gone mad! 😡

Do the afl behavioural awareness officers monitor player anti sportsmanship behaviours as exhibited by ben 'Pinchy' stratton?

Um ... ‘increased patrols’ - at an AFL-run stadium ... maybe someone tellling porkies

Lol

if people continue to patronise the games then this shit will just get worse. Grow some balls folks and boycott a couple of rounds across ALL grounds. Maybe even the TV coverage given that’s where most of their money comes from. Then see if they still want to treat us like crap.

watchmysting AFL Double talk for; 'we are cracking down on crowd behaviour. Good, bad or indifferent.'

Does any one remember a time when we all went to the AFL games just to support our team ? Not get a PC minority group lecture and get thrown out for cheering on your team the entire AFL executive needs to be removed or supporters should boycott all games until they are

Behavioural Awareness Officers? Orwell would’ve loved that term!🙄

826Maureen Pictures say a thousand words.

AFL = traffic nightmare for everyone else. It needs to be moved to the outskirts of the city where bafoonery and wasted money and nongs and boofheads can abuse each other in isolation not unleashing drankards onto the dense roadways and streets.

AFLputrid brand Run by putrid left wing ceo Watch Goodes get a commission gig in 2020. Unwatchable

“Behavioural Awareness Officers” Sinister.

Bull shit!

1116sen What’s the point going? May as well buy a 6 pack, some party pies and yell at the tv

Why didn’t those officers throw Ben Stratton out of the stadium?

826Maureen Sadly the game has changed for the worse, particularly with the bloke at the helm. Imagine the die-hards at Victoria, Prince & Kardinia Parks putting up with his B/shit 🏉

Going to become too hard to goto a game - high prices, virtue signaling (Earth Hour Round played in complete darkness etc) and now the morality police.

Why didn’t the “behavioural awareness officers” throw out the few thousand supporters chanting “BULLSHIT” at an umpiring decision? Haha, what a joke AFL House is.

The need to crack down on behaviour.

This can only happen in Melbourne by an old school Melbourne institution like the AFLcomau Hang you heads in shame!

Well if fans don’t boycott the game nothing will change. However what do u expect in our apathetic country when no one stands up and vilifies protesters

Behavioural awareness officers. We really have descended to a bad place.

In other news, Gil McLachlan confirms the standard of umpiring is at an all time high, hails the AFLX a roaring success and pledges the Grand Final will be played on a Saturday afternoon indefinitely...

The_Bedazzler “behavioural awareness officers” next thing you’ll get a footy social credit score

Obviously then it’s a directive of the MCG Surely it can’t be that hard to find out who employed the “behavioural awareness officers”

826Maureen What a bunch of wankers in charge of the AFL

Come to local footy and enjoy the game as it is supposed to be played.

Behavioral awareness officers? Hahaha hahaha hahaha Imagine the chump that gets allocated that job?

🤡💩

Why would you even bother spending your hard earned on exorbitant ticket prices anymore ? Vote with your wallet!

Meth and AFL sitting in a tree. K.I.S.S.I.N.G.

Star’s ‘dirty’ act shocks AFL, AmericaHawthorn star Ben Stratton has come under fire for repeatedly pinching Essendon players during Hawthorn’s 14.11 (96) to 11.11 (77) loss to the Bombers at Marvel Stadium. Schoolyard behavior being exhibited in Australia by an adult? Never! But falls short of Hopoate Primary school tactic? Kids in primary school show better sportsmanship than that.
