The Adelaide Crows have been fined $50,000 for breaching the AFL’s COVID-19 protocols after players and staff were seen travelling without face masks on a flight from Sydney last weekend.
The AFL and the Crows launched a joint investigation into the incident after the club received reports from passengers that members of the club improperly donned face masks en-route back to Adelaide. Crows CEO Tim Silvers says the club failed to uphold its own standards. "We failed in this area and we would like to apologise to the other passengers on the plane,” he said. "Our club accepts the AFL's penalty and from top to bottom owns this error in judgement.
