ANALYSIS: Adaptability the key to Australia's record-equalling ODI streak

When the Australian men's team set its record streak of 21 wins in one-day internationals, it did so with Ricky Ponting batting at number three.

That made Annabel Sutherland the youngest player ever to bat first drop for an Australian side — men's or women's — in any format. Ponting and Sutherland's contrast sums up their respective teams. The 2003 streak was built on extraordinary practitioners of individual roles: names like Gilchrist, Hayden, Martyn, Bevan, Symonds, Watson, Harvey, Lee, Bichel. The modern women's team is built on adaptability. At any time in the past three years, seven or eight players on a given team have been proper bowling options, while nine or even 10 have been legitimate with the bat.

One thing is for sure. I witnessed some damn nice cricket shots by the Australians throughout the tournament! Well coached and well done to the gals! Congratulations! 🏏

You cannot compare men’s cricket records to women’s. The women have done well, let them blaze their own trail, they don’t play in the same competition.

All skill.👍💕

'It's a worrying time': Why NSW will not be rid of coronavirus any time soonThe truth is, despite no new locally acquired coronavirus cases being recorded in NSW for the past 12 days, Australia's most populous state has never been rid of the virus. Probably exactly the same reasons we aren’t rid of every other disease. Honestly, who writes this shit? After the Ruby Princess Whitewash You would never trust Gladys Has Brad Hazzard still got a job It's not nearly as worrying as media orgs insist though. We have to live with this endemic virus.
