The territory will officially emerge from lockdown at 11.59pm tonight, with a staggering 98.8 per cent of eligible residents aged over 12 having had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.Victoria's COVID-19 cases soar to national daily record of 2297

Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said cases were expected to rise after lockdown ends, but reassured the state had been preparing for an increase.ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr congratulated the territory on its "world class" first dose vaccination rates. A number of restrictions will ease on Friday, allowing hairdressers and beauty salons to reopen, and people in the ACT can welcome others into their homes again.
