The ACT has recorded 19 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 — only six of which spent some time in the community while infectious.
"The Prime Minister's role is unique in the nation and that is understood, and Canberra faces a challenging set of circumstances as the seat of government and the national capital, in terms of continuing the operation of our nation's parliament and democracy," Mr Barr said. "It's a decision the Prime Minister has taken. Is it a cause of concern for many in the community? Well, clearly it is," he said.
"This is a big increase that we're really pleased to see, and we thank everyone for coming forward to get tested." Dr Coleman confirmed that 174 of the total 404 COVID-19 cases in the ACT's outbreak had recovered from the virus, leaving 130 active cases in the national capital.Pregnant Canberrans are being encouraged to access COVID-19 vaccines, being told they are at no increased risk of miscarriage.
"We are advocating for vaccination in all pregnant women in the ACT, and we're aiming for two doses before birth."
