A rugby league trailblazer explains the rule the NRL forgot

But the 26-year-old, who estimates he can kick a 20/40 in training seven out of 10 attempts, recalls last season's success fondly."I was running past him shouting, '20/40!', '20/40!'"Nobody has kicked more 40/20s in the NRL in the past decade than Manly's Daly Cherry-Evans.

"Who takes advantage of it the most I'm not sure. I'm going to back our big boys to get us out of trouble rather than me kicking it."

To be honest I didn't realise it was a new rule in fact I thought it had been around as long as the 40/20. It's a risky move to throw the dice so early in a tackle count and potentially hand over procession in your danger zone. Wouldn't want to face the coach if it goes wrong.
