Ben Brown feels as though he has been picked to play his first AFL game again after the Demons told him he will make his debut for Melbourne on Sunday, in his home state, against his former club North Melbourne.
Demons coach Simon Goodwin told reporters on Thursday that the 28-year-old would be included in the unbeaten team for his first game since round 10, 2020Credit:Brown said he was focused on slotting into the forward structure that has worked well this season, with the Demons keen to test a different look in a winnable game against the Kangaroos in Tasmania.
“I am just really excited to be in the side to be honest and I will try to bring whatever I can to the team and the main thing is a lot of effort, a lot of heart to the team hopefully,” Brown said. “[The knee] is feeling as good as it possibly could. I’m physically ready to go, I’m mentally ready to go. I’m super keen.”
