is to return to Australia for a second big-budget, effects-driven season.

NBC Universal senior vice-president of production Richard Ross told this masthead last May that the savings from shooting in Australia due to lighter COVID protocols alone amounted to about $300,000 per episode. Key to that is a new program in virtual production being developed by the Australian Film, Television and Radio School in partnership with NBC Universal’s local offshoot, Matchbox Pictures.Mr Fletcher said virtual production – in which LED screen arrays are used to create a virtual world against which performers can shoot their scenes – is “one of the most exciting areas of growth and innovation in the global screen industry”.
