One of Australia’s largest construction companies has adopted a new strategy to help keep their workers safe: mums. 9News

“When it comes to safety there is simply no margin for error,” he said.

“Our people are our greatest asset and we won’t get it right until we start thinking about everyone on our projects as if they are our brother, sister, son or daughter.” Lendlease's worksites have implemented messages from mums in an effort to prevent workplace accidents. The latest figures from Safe Work Australia released in December 2018 show 190 workers were killed on the job in 2017. Seventy-two per cent of them were across three industries: transport, postal and warehousing ; agriculture, forestry and fishing and construction . The 30 deaths in construction were down from 36 the previous year.
