Recriminations over the Coalition's federal election loss have spectacularly boiled over, with senior Liberal Party figures engaging in a vicious blame game.

Recriminations over the Coalition's federal election loss have boiled over spectacularly, with senior Liberal Party figures engaging in a vicious blame game over the impact of factional infighting on the result.

"I think the guy's a cancer," he told Four Corners. "I think Alex and the movement that he's built is a cancer that has infected the party … and it needs to be excised. This cancer needs to be cut out."Mr Morrison and Mr Hawke have been accused of holding up the process so they could install "captain's picks" without a regular preselection.

"As per party requirements, I have no role in deciding matters in relation to my own preselection," he said.Mr Camenzuli, who was expelled from the party over his court challenge, said he did not know how Mr Hawke would have fared if he had been forced to face a preselection. "They aggressively took over that meeting, every single executive spot that belonged to local people," she said.

Ms McIntosh said for 14 months, the party has ignored her request to investigate the behaviour at the branch's meeting.Deputy Liberal leader Sussan Ley, who was shielded from being challenged for preselection by a conservative candidate in her seat, also defended Mr Morrison and Mr Hawke.

This is not just a Liberal issue , it’s happening in the Labor Party as well with good candidates thrown to the wolves.

Analogy of what happened with the corrupt incompetent arrogant Malaysian Najib government . Guess in 2022 the same happened to Scomo government?

The liberals had a chance with turnbull but they blocked him and backstabbed him. The right in the liberals have leaned too far right and imploded the party. It seems conservatives have turned into nationalists over the past 10 years

No use starting a blame game you Liberals? You have other problems to contend with. The Labor Party. Albanese's Labor has hit the ground running and they wont be slowing down. All this should have started with the 2019 election but didnt. The Liberals are in big sh*t here.

The ABC will always be there waiting while the LNP sort out their issues. BFF’s don’t leave each other in times of trouble.

Nah. They were comprehensively rejected on the basis of poor policy, bad behaviour and having values that did not match the voters of Australia. Read the room…no one likes you!

Alex Hawke in his own words, 2005.

Read this about young Alex in 2005 and it becomes clear where he was headed in 2022.

It's called the IPA...

If its cancer......let it be terminal!!

Nobody wants anything to do with their new liberal world order. They finally have said their socialist agenda out loud.

So it’s about preselections and not policies? Specifically policy vacuums and a deeply disliked, dishonest leader. But let’s all ignore that. Liberals are not good learners

Teals eye Guy’s seat, but Liberals back independents in Andrews’ backyardThe Age has learnt the Victorian Liberal Party has for 18 months been training prominent locals to run as independents in some Labor-held seats. ‘“Labor will not go unmolested by independents in their own seats,” a high-ranking Liberal official said’ Weird word-choice, my dude. Truly, take the creep-factor down by a good 90%. Wait, if the Liberal Party is 'training' independents, that's got to be a bit of a scandal right? So not Independents

‘Assumption’ within the Victorian Labor Party ‘they’re going to get a third term’I think it's funny that Tim Smith assumes we will forget about his drink-driving crash 🤗 Safe assumption sadly, that is unless you can get someone with the strength of character and integrity of Jeff to run. Love or hate him, Vic was cooked when he became premier and was able to turn things around. Unfortunately Guy is not going to stop him, Tim. Get on your bike.
