All Victorian primary school aged children will return to on-site learning from October 12 after new research showed kids aged under 10 were less infectious than older children.

The state government confirmed on Sunday that Victorian primary school-aged children would return to on-site learning from October 12, citing new research which showed kids aged under 10 were less infectious than older children.

Ms McHardy said not including all high school students in the return to school from October 12 was likely though to disappoint many teenagers.“Fingers and toes crossed there are some more positive messages to come.” “Independent schools, their students and families have risen to the extraordinary challenges of learning at home, but we know the best educational and wellbeing outcomes for students come from attending their schools.

New research from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute found children aged under 10 were less infectious than older children. “Allowing all primary students to return to on-site learning in term four is unlikely to change the trajectory of case numbers significantly by Christmas,” the report said.

Australian Education Union Victorian branch president Meredith Peace said the October 12 return was a positive sign the education system was slowly returning to normal.“The fact that schools will have the flexibility to bring students back in a way that suits them and their circumstances is important. No two schools are the same and staff know what will work for them and their communities,” Ms Peace said.

Love how our guilty inept party calls it new research...lol

But what about grade 5&6 students?

Wasn't new research at all. Has been known for the past six months or so.

A sign of hope. Drama. Why not say, children are finally returning to school. It’s not like we are waiting to see if we will survive a catastrophe.

New research 🤣🤣🤣 has been clearly evident since about March. Joke of a government.

The problem has never been the kids... this is not new research. The problem is their parents during school pick up....

Haha new research...good one!

Research available from about April or so

Why does everyone Americanse their dates now?
