Ashley Jenkinson died when the helicopter he was flying as part of Sea World Helicopters' scenic tours collided with another helicopter mid-flight above the Gold Coast Broadwater yesterday.

abc.net.au/news/qld-pilot-victims-of-sea-world-helicopter-gold-coast-crash/101823248The pilot who died in a fatal mid-air chopper crash on the Gold Coast was an "expert" flyer who used his expertise to help flood victims in New South Wales, his friends say.

The British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office confirmed two of the fatalities were UK citizens. "I'd spend a lot of time with Ash flying and he was a very good pilot, so something like that to happen yesterday just blows your mind." "It was a bit gut wrenching and nerve-racking … to have a helicopter crash, to survive it at that height would be a bit of a miracle.

Can we wait till investigation is completed before making assumptions as to cause. Most air crashes are due to pilot error.

Great bloke…. Killed how many by his actions

A 'Big Guy' indeed! Has anybody looked into the flight plan filed with the agency at Sea World? Some discrepancies there, for such an accident to occur... The first one to talk will hopefully shed some light on this tragedy. -Ken

Aaww..so sad. Condolences to Pilot Jenkinson's family and may His soul rest in peace.

Two helicopters crash after horror collision on the Gold CoastAt least three people have died after two helicopters collided on the Gold Coast on Monday afternoon. All aircraft must be fitted with the TCAS system, right? Rip Terrible News. My heart goes to those who have lost loved ones.I’m at odds why such aircraft don’t have TCAS, (traffic collision avoidance system) they have a large CO2 imprint also.A little less than than fixed winged aircraft.TCAS maybe expansive. Plenty of positions to put it.
