The Liberal Party should in the future focus on winning seats in outer-suburban areas, as it is unlikely the party will regain its “blue ribbon heartland” anytime soon, according to the Menzies Institute’s Nick Cater.

The Liberal Party has lost a swathe of inner-city seats in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to ‘teal’ independents. “The fact that those seats have been lost and the prospect of ever regaining them in the near future is probably very, very small indeed means the party should now be concentrating in other seats where there is great potential,” Mr Cater told Sky News.

“We have seen across the country mixed swings and in some places people coming to the Liberals in preference to the Greens or the Labor Party.”

Drop your IPA goals, your 19th century attitude to women and minorities, face the fact that climate change is happening and that corruption is no longer standard operating procedure.

Keep going to the right 🤣

Just completely giving up. Lol, lmao.

I heard him live such a fool, poor little niki cater as MikeCarlton01 would say nickcater should question why your heart land was ripped to pieces, can't wait until rowandean is appointed chief strategy guru like a LNP steve bannon MrKRudd

The liberal party should focus on winning seats! Sky news should focus on reporting and stand down from their political advisory role!

My God. Having to mingle with the multicultural hoi poloi. How will the darlings cope..

Liberal's have never been for the average Joe and Joanne it always for the big end of Town and Large Companies ie.Fossil Fuels Leopards don't change their spots, Libs aren't fooling anybody, there not the Party of the worker their the Party of the Big Bosses.😄

MurdochRoyalCommission

All depends upon if the new government's policies start hitting higher middle income earners (eg taxes). Would make these seats return to LNP quickly.

It indicates we are no longer a white Christian Bible FABLE nation

Well they won't hmif they remain an extreme right wing party.

More weak analysis, more about just having some decent leadership, not lying, corrupt, woman haters. Not hard

'The Liberal Party should in the future focus on winning seats in outer-suburban areas' Like working class, low wage areas you regarded as 'commies' and 'Dole Bludgers' in the past. That's your plan? Gina, Gerry Harvey, Peter Costello, Rupert and the mineral's council know?

The Liberal party should focus on what's good for ordinary voters and their families, not their corporate donors. Its the primary reason they got booted out.

'Teals' are LNP light so I not sure what you on about. Liberals & Independent Liberal light scratching each others eyes out is entertaining to some but not new to Oz politics. ALP did similar during internal party disputes when sitting ALP PM was stabbed in back by BS (twice).

SharriMarkson where are you?

None of those liberals who were unseated I care for. Bye bye dave, trent... you won't be missed!

Then you have Labor voters strategically voting 'teal' to ensure Morrison loses....something that the opinionators seem to be ignoring.

Probably. But by being aspirational & entrepreneurial, not by culture war BS that appeals only to a small minority. Otherwise they’ll lose one moderate vote for every religious conservative one they pick up

Pretty clear the elections in Australia are rigged. Massive clean up required at the AEC and the media. The cabal is not very creative. Same shit everywhere. But as they are globalists they will collapse everywhere in one go. Won't get away with crime against humanity

That worked well this time
