Mark McGowan slams Gladys Berejiklian after she said 'we have to live with' Delta COVID strain
Mr McGowan, the Western Australia Premier, said the approach of his New South Wales counterpart was not in the nation's interest because Australia needed to suppress and"get rid" of the virus. Mr McGowan said that was not an acceptable position for a leader to have, adding"we can't have one state surrendering" to the Delta variant.
Mr McGowan previously hinted at enforcing an indefinite hard border with NSW unless the state can"crush and kill the virus".Last month Mr McGowan said he found it"odd" Sydney residents in lockdown are being"flippant" about the deadly impact of COVID-19. "It's an odd thing – I've seen some of the images and it's odd that they are so flippant about it.
What you see here is a weak scared leader, for all the criticism of Gladys, whether you like it or not, is the definition of a strong leader. McGowan is weak and scared and it shows. We need strength not weakness in this time.

The virus is not going away it’s part of our life. We have to learn to live with but with some controls.
Of course we have to learn to live with the virus, fairly simple logic of viruses , human beings living a life would force you to the conclusion that we have live our life around the virus. It will be a different life to that before the virus, politicians have to plan for it.
It’s pretty easy to throw stones when you’re in the country’s most remote capital city, but at some stage he needs a plan to allow travel in and out of the state

Y'all have to live in Perth right now to see how life is. Im from Victoria, spent majority of last in lockdown and restrictions. However, been stuck in WA cos border close to eastern states and life is good in perth for now.

Gladys' comments on living with virus is not coming out of any planned road map. Just pure denial and laziness. Just concentrate on bring down the cases, Gladys. Thousand cases with 80 percent vaccine rate is basically meaningless, that is what Mark is saying.

While I think Mark mcGowan has done a great job so far, I think Gladys is correct. The virus is present in too many different places for it to be vanquished and we can't keep locking down. Also, the vaccinated are getting infected and spreading it.
