Spiked Online Chief Political Writer Brendan O’Neill says ‘Partygate’ has become “politicised,” being used as a way to take down Boris Johnson and Brexit.
“It’s a huge scandal in this country, it’s starting to worry me a little bit now because I think Partygate has gone beyond the parties themselves – which obviously, questions needs to be answered about how many parties Downing Street had during lockdown,” Mr O’Neill told Sky News Australia. “But it’s become much more politicised, and the media and the cultural elites and other sections of the establishment are using it as a way to take down Boris, and also to take down Brexit.
“There are lots of people out there who are using ‘Partygate’ to actually undo the 2019 general election in which Boris was elected, and the 2016 EU referendum in which we voted for Brexit.”
