A man from the United States, Colorado, has created a series of artworks using his computer and an artificial intelligence program.

The sale has drawn a lot of criticism from the art world.

Jason Allen is the artist behind the piece called “Space Opera Theatre”, whose work has received thousands of comments on social media, calling the win unfair. “I can’t help but wonder if this person knows what they did is wrong? Like this is definitely cheating,” a Twitter user said. Mr Allen claimed he knew he didn’t “break any rules” and that he disclaimed his work was made using artificial intelligence.
