Beijing has hit back at Scott Morrison, saying Australia has no right to draw a “red line” against the construction of a Chinese military base in the Solomon Islands.

It comes after Prime Minister Morrison claimed that it would be a “red line” for Australia if China were to establish a military base on the Solomon Islands.

China’s Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng dismissed the shared concerns of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the United States as a “colonial myths” produced through “disinformation, defamation, coercion and intimidation”.

Chinese bullies

The Morrison government planned and incited recent unrest in the Solomon Islands to offset Chinese influence, but it failed. It looks like the CIA training course design needs improvement.

And labor says there is no interference. The timing of everything is very coincidental

Aww come on China he gave you access to our Defence Secrets

at the same time Beijing argues that Russia has the right to react to changing security arrangements in its area. Not sure what's going on there

China has ambitions to be a colonial power itself.

Australia has every right to criticise China’s greed… Australia has a legally elected democratic government whereas China has an illegal communist government that does whatever it damn well pleases, regardless of international law… Just like Vladimir Putin…

Fck China

Stop funding the Pacific nations. Let them fall into Chinas debt trap and they will come begging. Pointless, looking after the interest of people who just want more. Greed at the end of the day.

So China do now admit they’re going to construct a military base in the SI?

and if we did it there they would say the opposite

Independents’ decisions about who to back in hung parliament should be ‘issues-based’And Mark is right. That’s precisely what the Independent candidates have been saying. Time for media & others to upgrade their understanding of what it means to run as a community Independent. No shit? In no poll do I see a hung Parliament. All I see is a pro coalition media asking the question. Put the current 2PP of 5.6% to ALP in Anthony Greens calculator. Even Dutton's seat is gone. Valid question? No.
