Police who raided a married couple’s home allege the wife had bags of ice in her bra. She is accused of being a high-level drug trafficker.

Iris Oliveri looked downcast when she was refused bail on Tuesday, despite magistrate Carolyn Burnside acknowledging it could take 12 months to reach trial because of extensive COVID-19 delays.

Police will allege it turned up about $200,000 in cash that could not be explained, along with “large quantities” of cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, MDMA and 1-4 Butanediol – a substitute for GHB. The court heard Mrs Oliveri claimed she realised her husband was dealing drugs in the past and “repeatedly urged him to stop selling those drugs”.Ms Oliveri would be at “high risk of death” if she caught COVID-19 in prison because of asthma and emphysema, the court heard.
