The Australian Government wants to use a further $500 million to distribute millions of COVID-19 vaccine doses to countries across South-East Asia and the Pacific.

One Government source told the ABC that the announcement demonstrated its determination to cement Australia's regional influence in the aftermath of the pandemic.

— including the Philippines, Vietnam and Laos — they will get early access to any successful vaccine.— to become a hub for the production and distribution of Chinese-made vaccines throughout the region. The Federal Government's $500 million commitment will be on top of the existing aid budget, and will not be funded by cutting other development programs.

$500M borrowed from the ChineseCommunistParty that we have to then pay back? China should be paying directly.

ABC staffers first in line followed by state Premiers

You first.... Anyone whom thinks that Scientists in a lab can understand long term/intergenerational effects of this stuff are deluded

With no vaccine a present, this announcement is pointless.

Is it mandatory?

There is nothing our politicians do to justify their pay packet. There are many that work much harder yet get paid much less than our supposed “leaders”. Plutocracy with zero accountability! My tax is being stolen by an illegitimate gang called Gov! Complete transparency now!

It's quite cheap considering its cost the economy many billions.
