14,500kms from home, an Australian filmmaker has joined Farage's Brexit army

A filmmaker from Fremantle, Western Australia, who nearly died 30 years ago in the world’s worst oil rig disaster, has surprised locals in England by popping up as their candidate for Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party in the general election.

On Friday night Punchard was sitting in his new home above the promenade in Tynemouth, an ancient seaside town north of Ed Punchard, Brexit Party candidate for Tynemouth in the north-east of England, in his days as a North Sea oil rig diver. “I’ve got my nose pressed to the double glazing right now looking at the crashing waves, it’s a different kind of beauty but it reaches into my soul because I used to work out there at the bottom of the ocean,” he says.

Public servant caught in corruption scandal. And politicians still expect trust... the mind boggles 🙄 The law should be that any Pubic Servant successfully prosecuted for corruption receive double the penalty an ordinary citizen receive. I just wonder why they get away with it for so long and the amount of money ends up so high? If it was the ATO they would be onto it like a rat up a rafter? Maybe they would not care, either?
