Somehow, the warring parties must come together to combat Folau's $10 million legal claim. 😳 9WWOS

The stunning fallout between Rugby Australia chief executive Raelene Castle and departed Wallabies coach Michael Cheika could jeopardise the governing body's legal dispute against Israel Folau, aCheika quit his post after Australia's Rugby World Cup failure then revealed a broken relationship with Castle, plus RA chairman Cameron Clyne. Castle responded by pointing out the dire lack of results under Cheika's tenure since he reached the final of the previous World Cup.

Somehow, the warring parties must come together to combat Folau's $10 million legal claim against Rugby Australia, which could cripple the sport. Folau is seeking an eight-figure payout after being sacked by Rugby Australia for posting homophobic messages on social media, in the name of his hardline Christian beliefs.Folau's matter will return to mediation on December 13, but an earlier attempt to broker peace failed miserably. The matter would then go to the Federal Circuit Court of Australia from February 4 next year, at a hearing in Sydney.

All three could be witnesses in the Folau case for Rugby Australia, now presenting anything but a united front. Another potential witness, former NSW Waratahs chief executive Andrew Hore, added to the chaotic scenario by quitting his job a fortnight ago.

This is what said it all for me - The Australian coach dismissed questions about his strategy after the match, stating: 'That's the way we play footy. I'm not going to go to a kick-and-defend game. Call me naive, but that's something we're not going to do.'
