Eastbound and westbound lanes of Dimond between King Street and C Street remained closed late Sunday afternoon, and the Costco was expected to be closed the rest of the day, officials said.
The incident happened shortly after 9 a.m. at an entrance to the Costco at 330 W. Dimond Blvd. The truck and a trailer were hauling around 10,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline — 4,000 gallons in the truck’s main tank, which rolled over, and another 6,000 in its trailer, which didn’t roll over, Boyd said. Anchorage-based Inlet Energy operated the truck, Boyd said.
As of 3:30 p.m., the spilled fuel had been contained, but the crews were unloading fuel from the overturned tank, Boyd said.
