Real Madrid have reportedly confirmed their stance on signing Manchester United's wantaway star Cristiano Ronaldo in this window. Read more ➡️

Ronaldo's future is still under heavy speculation as the player is yet to find a new team, although it has been three weeks since the news of his desired exit from Old Trafford first made the headlines. It is believed the 37-year-old wants a move to a top European club that can offer him the chance to win trophies and compete in next season's UEFA Champions League, something United cannot offer as they are set to play in the UEFA Europa League instead.

Various clubs have been linked with the veteran forward, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid, all of whom are said to have decided not to make a move for the Portugal captain. This week, it was reported that Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes had also offered the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to his former club Real in a meeting with their president Florentino Perez., however, Los Blancos are not willing to change the direction in which their club is heading and will therefore not be entertaining any thoughts of re-signing their record goalscorer.

It is further claimed that the meeting between Mendes and Florentino Perez did not happen, as some reports suggest.Meanwhile, Real's neighbours Atletico are said to consider a move for Ronaldo as"economically unfeasible" due to the marksman's wage demands and potential transfer fee., though, suggests that a transfer to Los Rojiblancos could still happen, but it would largely depend on Mendes, who would have to negotiate a deal that fits the club's financial situation.

It is further claimed that Diego Simeone's side also have to sell a few players ahead of next season before they can bring someone like Ronaldo in, an action that would free up some space on the wage bill too.
