JOHANNESBURG - The Justice Ministry’s weighed in on comments Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema made last week calling the magistrate who’s hearing his illegal firearm discharge case "incompetent" and corrupt.

Malema made the comments while addressing supporters outside the East London Magistrates Court after Magistrate Twanet Olivier had dismissed his application for a discharge from the case. Judges Matter has condemned the comments and called on Malema to tender an apology, which he’s said the organisation would get "in hell".Spokesperson Chrispin Phiri: "Whilst it is acceptable to criticise the decisions of judges and debate them, and magistrates, it is not acceptable to direct sensational conspiracy theories at judicial officers. Where one finds the conduct of a judicial officer unacceptable, such conduct must be complained of at the relevant institution.
