Justin Bieber has been diligently working on his new clothing line, Skylrk , offering glimpses of upcoming products to his nearly 300 million followers through a series of recent Instagram posts. One particular revelation has ignited immense excitement among fans. On April 3rd, the pop star premiered a video directed by artist Yosef , showcasing imagery reminiscent of the Drew House clothing line he established in 2019 with former friend Ryan Good (Drew being Bieber's middle name).
In the video, his wife Hailey Bieber is depicted outside, waiting while the residence goes up in flames. Their baby son, Jack, born in August 2024, is seen in a stroller nearby. The couple shares a kiss and walks towards the setting sun, hand-in-hand, never looking back. Bieber's choice of a scooter running out of power as a metaphorical visual element, one of several easter eggs spotted in the 70-second video, was likely not accidental. Digital sculptor Yosef first connected with Bieber through direct messages. “That was when my life changed completely,” he recalls of their early Instagram interactions, which led to multiple collaborations. The 30-year-old Israeli is renowned for his hyper-realistic, one-of-a-kind animations and paintings of iconic characters such as Mickey Mouse, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Hello Kitty. His work often presents these characters with a darker undertone, hinting at a lust for luxury. Bieber became captivated by Yosef's artistry, and he wasn't alone: Rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie enlisted Yosef to create album art and other animated visuals for his release, which brought him to the attention of Steve Aoki.The NFT craze proved beneficial for Yosef, who works with a combination of software (including Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max, Zbrush, and Adobe’s Substance 3D Painter) and organic materials. Today, Yosef exhibits his work at the Eden Gallery, which has showcased his art in its flagship galleries in New York, London, Dubai, and a dozen more locations. Yosef, who grew up in Jerusalem and now resides in Miami, began drawing at the age of 12. “I was really obsessed with iconic cartoon characters and I always wanted to bring them to life,” he says. Regarding the Skylrk video, which took three months to create, Yosef states that Bieber was “expressing himself honestly,” adding that it aims to evoke “a new beginning with Hailey and Jack and into the new journey of Skylrk.
