DAYTON, Ohio -- Federal, state, and local officials provided an update Friday morning about a wide-ranging conspiracy case regarding a local motorcycle club. The motorcycle gang, known as the Thug Rider Motorcycle Club, is now facing multiple indictments alleging that the motorcycle club engaged in gang activity such as assault, theft, extortion and murder.

These charges include up to 20 years in prison.count charges several members with assault with dangerous a weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injuring in aid of racketeering. These charges come from the actions that occurred on September 26, 2023 in which officials allege that members of the club acted for the purpose of maintaining or increasing their position within the club and assaulted or aided in the assault of another person. This charge carries up to 20 years in prison.count charges several members of the club with violent crimes in aid of racketeering, commonly known as VICAR. These charges come from the actions that occurred on April 9, 2023 in southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky and other nearby states. The charges allege that the club members acted for the purpose of maintaining or increasing their position within the club and conspired to assault members of another motorcycle club in Kentucky. This charge carries up to 3 years in prison.count charges several members of the club with attempted assault with dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering. These charges come from the actions that occurred on March 20, 2024 in which officials allege that members of the club acted for the purpose of maintaining or increasing their position within the club and conspired to assault with dangerous weapons members of another motorcycle club. Officials allege that the racketeering began in January of 2019 with numerous moments of gang-activity occurring since then. In 2021, officials allege that members of the club shot over 40 rounds in Harrison Township, killing a man. Again in 2021, officials allege that members of the club blew up a former club members vehicle in Huber Heights. In 2023, officials allege that club members shot over 100 rounds into a rival motorcycle club's clubhouse. There were no deaths as a result of the shooting. The Thug Riders Motorcycle Club was originally founded in 2003 with the Dayton chapter being established in 2019.---------------------------- DAYTON, Ohio -- Federal, state and local officials are expected on Friday morning to provide an update into an investigation spanning multiple agencies in the Miami Valley. The racketeering conspiracy case includes 14 defendants and allegations of murder, arson, assault and extortion.The update comes a day after agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and other agencies were searching a home on Colorado Avenue in Xenia. Law enforcement provided no information about that search at the time. Later on Thursday, the office of United States Attorney Kenneth L. Parker confirmed that the Xenia search is related to Friday's news conference. The news conference is planned for 11 a.m. and is expected to include the following agencies: U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives , Drug Enforcement Administration , Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Dayton and Huber Heights police departments, with assistance from the Springfield, Columbus, Riverside, Fairborn, Xenia, Lexington and Richmond police departments; Greene, Miami and Clark county sheriff’s offices; Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol.
