Aptos, a leading retail technology provider, is bolstering its Aptos One platform with a record R&D investment for 2025. This investment comes alongside strategic client wins, including The Buckle and WSS, who are leveraging Aptos One to enhance their store operations, customer engagement, and overall shopping experiences.
Aptos , a leading retail technology provider, announced significant developments in its platform and client engagements. The company revealed an unprecedented increase in research and development (R&D) investments for 2025, focused on amplifying the capabilities of its Aptos One platform. This strategic move underscores Aptos ' commitment to innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions to its retail clients.
Aptos' expansion strategy gained momentum with The Buckle, a renowned apparel retailer, selecting Aptos One as its new point-of-sale (POS) platform. Buckle, a long-standing Aptos customer since 2018, decided to transition from Aptos' Windows-based POS system to Aptos One to elevate the shopping experience and streamline its operations. Brandon Hauff, vice president of IT at Buckle, highlighted the platform's cohesive design, advanced store operations, and guest engagement capabilities as key drivers for this decision. He emphasized that Aptos One empowers Buckle's team to provide personalized and efficient interactions for every customer. In parallel, WSS, a subsidiary of Foot Locker Inc., has also deployed Aptos One POS to enhance its store operations and customer engagement strategies. WSS, which entered into a partnership with Aptos last July, has been progressively rolling out Aptos One across its expanding network of stores. Sarah Derba, senior director of information technology at WSS, praised Aptos One's speed, ease of use, and comprehensive functionality, noting its positive impact on employee and customer satisfaction. WSS employees can now leverage a single, mobile-first device to perform a wide range of tasks, including processing transactions, managing loyalty programs, accessing real-time inventory and customer data, and fulfilling omnichannel orders. As Aptos continues to attract new clients and support existing ones, the company is dedicated to investing heavily in R&D for its Aptos One platform. This year's R&D budget will be the largest in Aptos' history, aimed at accelerating innovation and product development. Aptos is also transitioning to a unified data model across all its applications to optimize operational efficiency and data synchronization. Furthermore, the company plans to integrate AI-driven insights to enhance the customer experience, including personalized recommendations and sales insights directly within the POS interface. Aptos is also developing a GenAI chatbot to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency in-store. Additional enhancements to clienteling tools are in the pipeline, providing store associates with comprehensive customer data to personalize interactions and foster customer loyalty
