Warren County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Marriott Cincinnati Northeast on Tuesday after teens allegedly spent multiple days banging on guests’ doors.

MASON, Ohio - Warren County Sheriff ’s deputies responded to the Marriott Cincinnati Northeast on Tuesday after teens allegedly spent multiple days banging on guests’ doors.

“We just had a call from one of our guests — kids banging on the door in the halls. Very aggressively. Guests were feeling unsafe,” a hotel employee said in a call to authorities. Videos have circulated online showing groups of teens going hotel to hotel, banging on doors, kicking them in, yelling and then running off.

It’s unclear whether this incident is connected to a dangerous trend previously reported across the Tri-State. Kids and teens have been targeting homes and hotels in the middle of the night, banging and kicking doors before vanishing. Dearborn County Sheriff Shane McHenry previously said the prank is based on “ding-dong ditching. ” But the aggressive banging and kicking is different and far more dangerous.

A homeowner who hears someone kicking or banging on their door at night may think someone is breaking in. That could trigger a dangerous response. Earlier this month, a Cincinnati man was charged after he allegedly fired into a car of juveniles who, according to court documents, were ding-dong ditching at his home.

“We just had a couple more complaints and I think we are able to track them down,” the general manager said. A report has been filed with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. A hotel employee said they tracked down the parents of some of the teens involved. They’re hopeful it won’t happen again.
