A 46-year-old woman died four days after she was involved in an Adams County crash, authorities said.
Summer Sneeringer, of Straban Township, was driving south on Flickinger Road in Gettysburg around 8 a.m. April 24 when she crossed into oncoming traffic, then back, hitting several trees in the process, according to the York County Coroner’s Office. It’s unclear what caused Sneeringer to lose control of her vehicle. Gay said Sneeringer was the only person in her car. Sneeringer was wearing her seatbelt and her airbags deployed, according to the coroner’s office.
Sneeringer was taken to WellSpan York Hospital to be evaluated, then she was released Monday. However, she returned to the hospital Thursday and died Friday, Coroner Pamela Gay said. Gay said Sneeringer died from a cut spleen — an injury that the crash caused. Her death was ruled accidental. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
