The workers at Filta use a machine to suck all the cooking oil out of a fryer, put it through three levels of filtration and then deep clean the fryer itself before replacing the now-filtered oil. Powers, who's owned the franchise for nearly 12 years, likens it to"dialysis for your cooking oil."F Customers save money by using filtered oil, Powers said, and because Filta covers labor costs associated with cleaning the fryers., driven by increased demand for biofuel production. Powers' franchise made about $2 million in revenue last year, he said
