UH joins research alliance to boost Hispanic representation

The University of Houston and six other Texas research institutions have joined a newly formed alliance to advance opportunities for Hispanic students and professors.

In addition to the University of Houston, the alliance’s other institutions include Texas Tech University, University of Texas-Arlington, The University of Texas-Austin, The University of Texas-El Paso, The University of Texas-San Antonio and University of North Texas. By 2030, the 20 universities across nine states aim to double the number of enrolled Hispanic doctoral students and increase by 20 percent their Hispanic professoriate, according to a news release.
