HOUSTON — A"potential failure watch" remains in effect for the Lake Livingston Dam after more damage was noticed, thesaid Tuesday. It was damage they said was more visible after recent rains receded.
We first told you about damage to the dam’s spillway on Friday night. This new information came from TRA officials in a news release. They said the dam is going through repairs to fix erosion caused by recent heavy rain and flooding. To help with the repairs, the level of the lake was being lowered so more of the dam could be accessed.At this point, there’s no timeline for when the repairs will be finished.
People living near the dam should check with their local emergency officials to find out if there’s any action they need to take. The day-to-day dam operations will continue as needed. The Trinity River Authority said there’s no threat or impact to water customers served by Lake Livingston.
