Even the little first-generation Picanto, which arrived three years after the original Pride was discontinued, was longer at 3535mm .Although it was really only a Fiat built under licence, the 600 was arguably Spain’s most important car, since it was partly responsible for the enormous post-war growth of the Spanish economy.

The trend for cars getting ever bigger saddens me. I get some of it is safety related and that’s fine but even most small cars today aren’t small cars. SUVs and crossovers just exacerbate the problem.
