South Korea's Hanwha Aerospace unveils its new groundbreaking robotic amphibious missile launcher vehicle at this year's KADEX.

South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace has officially unveiled its proposal for a novel robotic amphibious missile launcher vehicle. Previewed at the Korea Army International Defense Exhibition 2024, this new missile system will be designed to provide maximum fire support with minimal manpower.

The new rocket system will weigh around 17 tons and be deployable from amphibious assault ships and transport vessels. According to, the vehicle also has an advanced stabilization system to compensate for ship movement, meaning it can be operated from a ship’s deck and land. Being unmanned, the rocket system will maximize crew survivability and be useful for high-risk combat deployment. “]We’ve dramatically improved survivability by removing personnel from the launch area.] This unmanned approach allows for safer operations in high-risk scenarios,” Hanwha added.

Hanwha is one of South Korea’s main defense contractors. A subsidiary of Hanwha Group, Hanwha is an aerospace company based in Changwon, South Korea. It was founded in 1977 as Samsung Precision. It has developed or is developing other cutting-edge technologies for its home nation.
