Shattered's ending leaves a lot of questions unanswered, with the twisting mystery never fully explaining the fates of Sky, Chris, and Sebastian.
The 2022 psychological thriller Shattered has a complicated plot, but the movie’s explosive ending does wrap up all of its loose ends. The steamy thriller Shattered follows the story of Chris, a tech millionaire who was born into wealth and privilege. Chris started a company that sold high-end home security systems and grew his already-considerable inherited wealth in the process. However, this also led Chris to become a recluse, isolating himself from his wife, Jamie, and his daughter, Willow.
After that part of the plan succeeded, Sky hoped to live in idyllic seclusion with Chris for the foreseeable future. This plan was almost immediately shattered when Chris saw reports of Lisa’s murder on television. Sky blithely revealed that she killed Lisa, revealing to Chris that she was a dangerous criminal. This was where Sky’s plan began to unravel as she resorted to mutilating Chris to keep him from seeking help. Chris almost escaped when he made it out of the mansion.
What Next For Chris? Does He Get Back Together With Jamie? It is unclear what Chris will do after Shattered’s ending. On the one hand, Jamie and Willow did save him from Sky, and he did embrace his estranged wife in the movie’s closing moments. On the other hand, Shattered’s ending only reaffirmed Chris’ paranoid worldview. The reclusive millionaire believed that everyone who loved him only do so for his money and his experiences why Sky did nothing to disprove this theory.
The Real Reason Sky Killed Frank Grillo's Sebastian Sky kills Frank Grillo's Sebastian to ensure that he doesn’t jeopardize her plan to keep Chris captive, but this is not the real reason she commits this murder. Sebastian was Sky’s stepfather years earlier, and it is heavily implied that he abused her during this period. Sky has an opportunity to get revenge on Sebastian near Shattered’s ending, which results in her killing her former abuser.
