Accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann had reportedly been planning to retire on his secluded property in South Carolina and live near his older brother.
”[Craig Heuermann] keeps saying his brother is going into retirement,” a neighbor in rural Chester, SC“He told me when I first moved down here that his brother owns that lot across the road, and that his brother’s going to retire down here, and when he does, everybody’s leaving,” the neighbor added.
Rex, 51, apparently planned to “buy everybody out” once he arrived, the neighbor told the news outlet on condition of anonymity., Asa Ellerup – bought several lots of land in the Palmetto State’s Chester County two years ago, records show. The property belonging to Craig, 57, features a front gate bearing two unwelcoming signs – one reading “Keep out/No trespassing” and the other that says, “No warrant/No Entry,” according to Fox News Digital.Heuermann planned to retire to his secluded property in South Carolina, according to neighbors.Visitors to the property at 1031 Rippling Brooke Drive in Chester are greeted with unwelcoming signs.
“I called the police because I was going to shoot him, but my wife talked me out of it. We called the police, and when we talked to [Craig], he said, ‘Well, I told him not to cut grass on Sunday,’” the neighbor told the outlet.— left business cards reading “I’m an a—hole” in mailboxes along his street.
Heuermann has pleaded not guilty in the murders of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello.”I keep my distance. … I think he’s as crazy as a bed bug,” another neighbor told Fox News Digital also on condition of anonymity.
