A Chicago interfaith prayer gathering took place Tuesday afternoon outside of Grace Place in the Loop. Attendees at the gathering were calling for an immediate end to violence in Gaza.

Since the Israel-Hamas war began, there have been countless vigils, rallies and marches for both sides across the Chicago area. However, only a few events offer a space for the two sides to unite.

The service will include music and memorial prayers for those killed, along with remarks from clergy leaders and Chicago's interfaith community members. This comes as Judith Raanan and her daughter Natalie from Evanston arrive home after two weeks in Hamas captivity. Rabbi Meir Hecht with Chabad of Evanston told Good Day Chicago that communities are still hurting amid the good news.

"Over 200 hostages taken, a number that's enormous, very painful. The entire community has been reeling in pain and trying to overcome this outrageous information," said Rabbi Meir Hecht. All the news you need to know, every day
