In our poll with Morning Consult, fewer than one-in-four voters support using hydroxychloroquine to treat the coronavirus, and only 11% say they're likely to take it themselves

, out Tuesday, only 23 percent of registered voters said they support using hydroxychloroquine to treat coronavirus, down from 29 percent who supported the therapy in April. The poll, which was conducted after Trump’s revelation last week, found that almost three-quarters of voters were aware of that news.

“President Trump’s disclosure of taking hydroxychloroquine made a splash, with news reaching a sizable majority of voters. Still, the renewed buzz around the antimalarial drug didn’t result in increased support for its use as a treatment for coronavirus,” said Tyler Sinclair, vice president of Morning Consult.

The president initially emerged as a champion of hydroxychloroquine early on in the pandemic, boosted by allies in conservative media. Then, last week, Trump said he'd made the decision to take the drug himself as a prophylactic — because, he claimed, “what do you have to lose?”Just 11 percent of Democrats and 2-in-10 independents said they supported the treatment.

The survey was also partially conducted after one of the largest observational studies of the drug to date hydroxychloroquine treats coronavirus and was linked to increased rates of mortality and cardiac issues among hospitalized Covid-19 patients.

Those numbers give hope in a world where trump supporter seem to be cattle waiting to be hearded

So 11% are idiots and 25% aren't much brighter. Good to know. The same folks will refuse the vaccine if we manage to make one. Natural selection is a good thing.

None should take! France and Nee Zealand banning it

My doctor won’t prescribe shit unless it’s at least 90% effective and 95% approval among people who have no idea what you’ve asked them 🙄

Here's an idea: don't do opinion polls about sophisticated medical treatment. Good talk guys.

Ask him how the Clorox Chewables taste.

WH PRESS briefing VA said they've been using hydroxychloroquine drug for 65 years and 42,000 doses a day! NY want's 100,000s of doses!

Still 25% is quite a large number willing to take something with no proof or endorsement apart from its paid spokesman.

Help me understand why medical treatments should be decided by media polling....

Why on earth are they polling medical questions?

I'd take it in a heart beat.

Many of the soldiers treated with hydroxchioroquine when they had malaria died..but Trump owns stock in this drug so he promotes it

Imatq1 Those insidious 'ask your doctor if x (drug) is right for you' ads have made gullible Americans think they should be sampling a smorgasbord of drugs at will or whim.

2016: man vs woman, establishment vs npc, china vs US 2020: hydroxychloroquine, masks and dementia WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE

This is a success for evidence based health messaging. People across the political spectrum recognise the risks of self medicating using HCQ.

The lamestream media, the WHO and the American establishment across political divide are all in bed with China. They have met their match in President Donald Trump. An immovable obstacle to global lunacy.

So 11% say they’re likely to take something that studies say no only doesn’t work but increases risk of death by 45%. Because Trump told them to. He is a clear and present danger to society.

Thats bullshit and you guys know it

It’s not a treatment, it’s a prophylactic!! But....you know that

It doesn’t matter what fucking people think. They need to ask their doctors before taking anything!

That's still an incredibly high number. Just baffling how stupid people can be.

That accounts for the number of clowns to the left of me, and most of the jokers on my right.

Just want to say I, personally, do NOT believe rumors that Trump poisoned Carolyn Gombell with Hydroxychloroquine then intentionally botched the US COVID-19 response to drive massive increase in use of the drug as smokescreen. That is FakeNews JusticeForCarolyn

Damn. I was hoping that the same 40% that support trump would also take it.

Those 11% must've really taken Trump's pimping of hydroxychloroquine to heart. Sheep

When did voters become experts? Are you guys serious about reporting stupidity like this? This isn't news reporting. This is literally propaganda.

why wasn't I able to Participate the survey for the polls

Wasn’t aware it was a treatment ?

INDIA IS USING IT TO PREVENT CORONA. SO....THATS 1 BILLIONS + SAYING YOU A LIE. HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT ?

That’s a good thing.

11% are QAnon nuts

If any of these people polled had Covid19 and needed to breathe you would take anything to it be on a ventilator road to possible death! Why not educate people why not use science that was used in France! Why hate a treatment that works? Do you want the sickness to survive?

Doctors prescribe it, you idiots.

Real Science: Don't take hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus. It is an anti-malarial.

Horse Hockey!

Medical treatment by polling.. now I've seen everything

That’s still too many.

As a preventitive , yes

Poll Finds Majority Of Americans Would Like Things To Go Right For OnceUTICA, NY—A poll released Tuesday by Zogby International found that 72 percent of Americans would prefer it if things could go right, just this one time, without something inevitably coming along and screwing everything up. “For once in my life, it would be cool if things didn’t suddenly fall apart right when they started going my way,” said poll respondent Esther Lau, who listed finally catching a break as one of her personal goals. “Suppose, for example, that instead of turning into a total disaster in the end, events worked themselves out in a way that was favorable, or at least okay for the most part. That’s a situation I would be amenable to.” The remaining 28 percent of Americans agreed that everything was just fine, and why would this even be a question someone would ask in the first place? who do they poll?! nobody called me!!! it's going right-wing alright Recent study finds Americans are losing their faces.
