The 2024 TCS New York City Marathon kicked off Sunday morning with more than 50,000 runners from over 150 countries. The winner of the men's and women's division will each earn $100,000.The marathon course runs 26.2 miles through the five boroughs of NYC , starting in Staten Island and finishing in Central Park.
He also won the Chicago Marathon a few weeks ago.Susannah Scaroni won the women’s wheelchair race by blowing past the field. It was her second time winning, also taking the 2022 race.It's the first time in the history of the race that both the men's and women's wheelchair events were won by Americans.Abdi Nageeye of the Netherlands won the men's race at the New York City Marathon on Sunday and Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya took the women's event.
