Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT This new type of Star Wars poster brings an experimental 3D design to life in a way that George Lucas would love. The Star Wars franchise has never shied away from taking unique and unexpected paths within the galaxy, which has in turn caused its loyal followers to do the very same.

Known for their metal poster designs, Displate has recently introduced its new 3D design named "Textra," which brings its images to life. Utilizing a unique raised effect on its metal posters, Displate Textra takes a flat image and gives the illusion of it popping out from the metal surface of the poster.

One of Lucas' most criticized experimental ventures, however, is easily the Star Wars Special Editions. Lucas, seeking to add more depth to the original Star Wars trilogy, added brand-new scenes to the movies - and even changed some familiar ones. This not only created the infamous who-shot-first debate between Han Solo and Greedo, but it also brought on an onslaught of criticism, including the imbalance between the original special effects of the time and the more recently updated CGI.

Soon, The Acolyte TV show will take viewers outside the Skywalker saga timeline for the first time in live-action, which adds to Lucas' experimental legacy. Now, Disney's Star Wars is attempting some of that same experimentation in various ways. The tone of Andor alone was a huge diversion from the usual Star Wars story, and it ended up being a massive success among audiences. Soon, The Acolyte TV show will take viewers outside the Skywalker saga timeline for the first time in live-action, which adds to Lucas' experimental legacy.
