By Anna Matranga A photo provided by the Paideia International Hospital in Rome, Italy, shows a 35-year-old male patient playing the saxophone as he has open brain surgery to remove a tumor, October 10, 2022.— The 35-year-old male patient had the procedure at Rome's Paideia International Hospital on Monday and was discharged early Thursday morning.
The doctor said his patient, who has been identified only as C.Z., played the theme song from the 1970 movie"Love Story," and the Italian national anthem, at various times throughout the surgery. Brogna, who has performed hundreds of awake brain surgeries, said the key to pulling off such a complex operation, was preparation.
During the preparations for this and any other brain surgery, Brogna said the team looks at the entire person, not just the pathology.

Didn't I see this on Grey's Anatomy before?
Posted repeatedly. Such experiences are common. Move ON...
Amazing
Very nice , I wonder if an anesthesiologist was in any way involved
Things became needlessly complicated when passersby threw coins at him.
I wonder if he was taking requests
I'd be more impressed if the surgeon were playing the entire time.
It is amazing that the ears of the doctors there endured him for 9 hours ! 😛
Playing the saxophone was part of the monitoring process associated with the success operation.
This same thing happened over 5 years ago to my friend. Had his operation at UofR Medical Center in Upstate New York.
How come no one is talking about this!
Airdrop Don't be late 🤯
I once had to talk to a patient during brain surgery to ensure his speech center wasn't compromised- it wasn't and he fully recuperated after.
This was definitely a GreysABC episode
Flashback to that MondayMornTNT episode with ImJamieBamber and KeongSim! 'Do better!' LOL
Amazing.

I can’t even imagine.
This is not a unique experience.
